About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) pilot project investigating the detectability of cloud seeding activities using spaceborne cloud and precipitation retrieval datasets.
The contractor shall provide four primary deliverables over a 12-month performance period beginning upon award signature. First, the contractor must provide access to local compute resources with direct connectivity to existing multi-satellite data repositories, including GEO imagery and precipitation products, LEO cloud and precipitation products, and relevant ancillary datasets such as atmospheric state parameters. Second, the contractor shall furnish technical support for GEO geophysical retrieval algorithm implementation and data processing. Third, the contractor shall assist in developing and processing custom multi-dataset statistical aggregations over the Continental United States (CONUS), specifically focused on known cloud seeding locations. Fourth, the contractor shall produce high-resolution imagery for L1B and L2 cloud and precipitation datasets designed for integration into the NASA Worldview visualization system. The project requires algorithm development for geostationary sensors, compute resources with satellite data repository access, and technical support for algorithm integration, processing, and evaluation to support the pilot's core objective of determining whether cloud seeding activities can be detected through analysis of satellite-based cloud and precipitation data.
