About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document clarifying requirements for a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Building 2204 at SSC involving the design and installation of a modular building with structural components, HVAC systems, and flooring.
The solicitation requires offerors to submit design sketches for Government acceptance. The ideal delivery schedule is October 31, 2026, with installation completion by December 31, 2026. Pre-quotation site visits are not mandatory but are at the awardee's discretion. For HVAC systems, mini-split units adequate for a 30-by-30-foot space are required, with tie-in to existing house power; no detailed load calculations or design conditions are specified in the RFQ. Flooring should be standard with carpet preferred. The Government will accept a prime contractor utilizing specialized subcontractors for the modular building, structural mezzanine/professional engineering, stairs/guardrails, electrical, HVAC, and flooring components, provided the prime contractor remains responsible for overall performance. Subcontractor use is permissible within budget constraints. Technical drawings beyond the required design sketch, sealed calculations, manufacturer authorizations, and past performance documentation are not explicitly mandated for quote submission.
