About this file
This document is a Request for Quote (RFQ) for precision machining services for the MSFC ST12 project. The requirement involves machining two part numbers: two units of RDSX-102-001 FRONT APERTURE.STEP and two units of RDSX-154 REAR APERTURE.STEP. The work must be completed within 35 business days to maintain the project schedule ahead of launch.
The specifications require vendors to machine customer-supplied 17-4 PH stainless steel alloy in H1150 heat treat condition to precise geometric dimensional and tolerance specifications per provided drawings. Work includes stress relief heat treat per SAE AMS2759/11, finish machining to 125 microinches/3.2 micrometers Ra roughness, with parts finished to 0.125" stock before stress relief and EDM work (performed by customer). Excluded work includes passivation and lapping, both to be performed by the customer. Vendors must provide bag and tag packaging, formal inspection with dimensional reports, and Certificates of Conformance. Required qualifications include ITAR/EAR registration, finishing certification, and supplier qualifications documentation. Access to CAD and mechanical drawing files requires vendor representatives to possess a box.com account, verify US Person status (US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder), and provide full name and associated email to the Point of Contact.
