About this file
This document is a specification sheet for sputter targets required by NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC). NASA needs four platinum targets (99.99% purity, 3-inch diameter, 0.25-inch thick) and one gold target (99.999% purity, 3-inch diameter, 0.25-inch thick), with specific requirements including non-radioactive sourcing, new condition, and no resale. The vendor must be the actual manufacturer with demonstrated capability in producing semiconductor device technology sputter targets, and must have prior sales experience with government agencies like NASA.
The specifications include detailed technical requirements such as no backing plate, precise thickness tolerances (+/- 0.010 inch), and a mandatory Certificate of Analysis (COA). The document also requests reclaim estimates for gold (38.0408 troy ounces) and platinum (68.2624 troy ounces). The targets will be used by NASA's Smart Sensing and Electronics System branch for developing silicon carbide integrated circuits and sensors for aerospace applications.
