About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA Glenn Research Center's procurement of 400 ShinEtsu R32HS rare-earth magnets for the Sunpower Robust Stirling Converter (SRSC), a critical space power conversion technology. The magnets, with reference part number 300CD-23674-105-004, require Wire EDM processing and include FAIR and magnet moment/serialization add-on charges. The procurement supports NASA's mission to advance energy conversion technologies for spacecraft power systems.
The magnets will be manufactured by TDA Magnetics in Rancho Dominguez, California, with a delivery timeline of 10-12 weeks after ATP (Authorization to Proceed). The performance period extends through December 31, 2025, ensuring continued development and integration of the SRSC for future spaceflight applications. The components are essential for fabricating and operating the Stirling power converter, providing magnetic properties necessary for efficient and reliable performance in extreme space environments.
