About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a Virtual, Instructor-Led Training (VILT) on API 579-1 / ASME FFS-1 Fitness-For-Service for Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The training is designed to help KSC pressure system design teams understand fitness-for-service concepts, focusing on damage mechanisms and assessment techniques for pressure system components. The sole-source procurement is with the Equity Technical Institute to provide specialized training to 20 individuals.

The training will be conducted in two parts: July 30-31, 2025 (Part 1) and August 4-8, 2025 (Part 2), with sessions running from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. EST daily via Microsoft Teams. The virtual expert-led classroom instruction aims to help engineers assess damage, estimate potential impacts on mechanical integrity, and determine a system's remaining life. The training aligns with NASA standards and OSHA-recognized engineering practices, with the ultimate goal of enabling high-replacement cost savings and prolonging the use of pressure system inventory.
