Questions and Answers
1. Could you please specify if there’s a facility for off-loading the units on site?
There is no facility to off load units. There is a specific location where the units are off-loaded and staged.
2. Could you tell me if the NASA facility would be able to offload the Connex containers off flatbed trucks. Or would we need to provide drop load type trucks for this job?
The vendor will need to provide drop load type trucks for this job.
3. Will the government be at liberty to advise if the end user will have a way to offload the containers, or will the delivering party have to offload themselves?
The vendor will need to provide drop load type trucks for this job.
4. The area in the RFQ where it says "One Trip" conex boxes: It's a bit confusing. Are these boxes for one use only? Also are these boxes for rent or purchase.
These boxes are for one use only and are to be purchased.
5. Since this award is based off of LPTA, can you please clarify if you're looking for new or used containers? Both have different price points.
They can be either new or used but need to be wind and airtight, or watertight. This is due to our climate.
6. The SOW listed containers needed as Wind and airtight (should be water tight) but also sea worthy. Wind and Water tight designation is very different then Sea Worthy. Wind and Water tight are the containers that have been used the most and would not be allowed for any more shipping. Sea Worthy will still be allowed on shipping lines.
Containers do not need to be seaworthy. They will not be shipped by sea. They need to be wind and airtight or watertight.
