About this file

This document contains an annex and launch services interface requirements document (LSIRD) for the Time-Resolved Observations of Precipitation Structure and Storm Intensity with a Constellation of Smallsats (TROPICS) mission. The LSIRD specifies requirements for integrating six TROPICS small satellites into a Canisterized Satellite Dispenser and deploying them from a launch vehicle into low Earth orbit, with all satellites to launch within 120 days. It defines mechanical, electrical, environmental, mission design, and ground processing requirements for the interface between the TROPICS spacecraft and launch vehicle. Key requirements include use of a Moog Shockwave isolation system, mass properties of the integrated spacecraft dispenser, electrical interfaces for deployment commands, frequency and load limits, thermal and electromagnetic compatibility specifications, orbital parameters for deployment, and contamination controls for ground processing.
