The award will be made to the contractor offering the highest total reimbursement to the City.
Payment is based on unit prices quoted by the contractor and calculated from weigh tickets and sales receipts. The contractor must reimburse the City a specified percentage of total revenue received from scrap sales, with pricing tied to authorized Detroit market commodity prices effective on the date of scrap pickup. All vehicles must be weighed on State of Michigan-approved commercial scales, with empty and loaded weights recorded on scale tickets signed by the scale operator, vehicle operator, and contractor. Payment must be made in full net cash via cashier's check, certified check, or money order payable to the Treasurer of the City of Detroit within five (5) business days.
