About this file

This document is a Heat Protection Safety Requirement specification outlining worker safety guidelines for weather-related conditions. The document mandates that all project Safety Plans must include comprehensive provisions for protecting workers from heat-related and cold-related illnesses during project execution. Specifically, when temperatures reach or exceed 90 degrees (either actual temperature or heat index), the Prime Contractor is required to implement a project-specific Heat Awareness Plan that includes provisions for worker acclimatization, access to water, rest periods, and shade.

The safety requirement is binding on vendors, who must acknowledge and agree to follow these heat protection guidelines by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of bid submission. The document emphasizes the Prime Contractor's responsibility to provide necessary accommodations during extended periods of adverse weather conditions, ensuring worker safety is a priority throughout the project's duration. This specification appears to be a standard safety protocol that will be incorporated into the overall project requirements and contract terms.
