About this file

This document is an Addendum to a Request for Quotes (RFQt) No. 25-0214 issued by the Purchasing Division of the City of Fort Worth for Wildlife Removal and Dam Deconstruction services. The original RFQt was issued on August 1, 2025, with the bid closing date set for August 11, 2025, which remains unchanged. The addendum incorporates a Questions and Answers document that provides clarification on project specifications, including the intent to create 4-foot openings in beaver dams to restore water flow and the allowance of both live and body grip traps in areas with limited public traffic.

The addendum includes three key questions and answers that provide additional details for potential bidders. Specifically, the city will provide separate area maps to help contractors understand their coverage and legal access areas. Regarding dam deconstruction, the intent is to create a 4-foot opening and remove debris obstructing water flow, rather than completely removing dams. For wildlife trapping, body grip traps are permitted in areas where live traps prove ineffective, offering contractors flexibility in their approach to wildlife management. Bidders are required to return the addendum form with their sealed bid, with the company name and signature matching the original bid documents.

Questions and Answers

Q1. Can the city provide a map of each park with the city property border marked so we know our coverage area and where we can legally access?

A1. Please see attached the requested area maps. They are attached separately.

Q2. Specifications section 4.1 specifies “partially dismantle beaver dams to restore water flow”. Our interpretation is just a small 1 or 2 foot wide gap on the dam to get water flowing again. Not a large removal of dams as this could vary greatly depending on the size of dam and location. Can you confirm this matches your intent?

A2. The intent would involve creating a 4-foot opening and removal of debris obstructing the water flow.

Q3. Will trapping be limited to live traps or are other methods such as body grip traps allowed in areas with limited risk of public traffic?

A3. Yes, body grip traps are allowed where live traps are ineffective.
