The solicitation seeks to procure a field upgrade for an existing LUMICKS C-trap instrument (Part # NSR-20346) that will convert it from a 2-color to a 3-color confocal fluorescence system by installing a 488nm laser. The intended awardee is LUMICKS USA Inc., located in Morrisville, North Carolina. This is classified under NAICS code 811210 (Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with a size standard of $34,000,000. The acquisition is being conducted as a streamlined commercial items procurement under FAR 12.603, with an estimated value not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold of $350,000.
The contractor must complete installation of the 488nm laser within six months of purchase order issuance, validate proper functionality and performance according to installation specifications, ensure the new laser does not negatively impact existing instrument functions, and maintain the system under warranty through February 15, 2029 to align with the existing C-trap warranty. The delivery location is NIH/NIEHS at 111 TW Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Responses were due by September 15, 2026, at 9:00 AM Eastern time and must include technical proposals, cost-price proposals, period of performance, UEI, TIN, business size certification, and documentation demonstrating capability. Evaluation criteria include equipment capability, warranty and maintenance coverage, delivery schedule, price, past performance, and technical capability.
