STATEMENT OF WORK (SERVICES)

(SOW)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Title of Project:

Service contract for a Cytiva Biacore 8K+ in NCATS Early Translation Branch (ETB) labs.

Statement of Need and Purpose:

The purpose of this requisition is to have a purchase order for a service agreement of an instrument used in NCATS ETB labs. The instrument is the Biacore 8K+ system and is used by multiple groups.

The Biacore 8K+ is a high-throughput surface plasmon resonance (SPR) system used to study biomolecular interactions in real time, without labeling. This instrument is being used for multiple projects in our biology groups, including but not limited to: TR000063-11 Modulators of Secreted ER Ca2+ Monitoring Protein (SERCaMP); TR000192-11 Selective Inhibitors of ALDH1A1; TR000298-09 Identification of small molecule inhibitors of USP15.

Background Information and Objective:

The NCATS ETB lab requires a service agreement for an SPR Biacore 8K+ system. Full function of this equipment is necessary for the continuity and standardization of NCATS research. This system monitors molecular interactions in real time, enabling precise analysis of e.g. affinity and kinetics. Their sensitivity, high throughput and robustness support quality data across research, drug discovery, development, and QC. It is imperative we have this instrument up and running at all times as multiple groups in ETB depend on it for their day-to-day research activities. To that end, we are requesting a purchase order for a service agreement for a year to cover the instrument.
