Notice of Intent: Biohazardous Waste Disposal Service

(75N98026Q00486)

In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the National Institutes of Health intends to award a Firm- Fixed-Price Purchase Order to Medical Waste Disposal, LLC.

The Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments laboratory within the Pediatric Endocrinology Clinical Research Branch requires recurring biohazardous waste management services to support ongoing patient care and laboratory operations. The required service includes the collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal of regulated medical waste generated from branch clinics and laboratory specimen processing activities located at 850 N. 5th Street, Suite 700, Phoenix, AZ.

Scheduled weekly pickup services are required every Tuesday to ensure continuous compliance with laboratory safety standards and uninterrupted research and patient participation activities.

The requested service must support the handling and disposal of infectious or potentially infectious materials, including blood-contaminated items, used glucose test strips, gloves, and other materials exposed to bodily fluids capable of transmitting infection. Failure to maintain these services would create safety, regulatory, and operational risks that could disrupt laboratory specimen analysis and negatively impact ongoing clinical research activities.

This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any available small businesses (e.g., 8(a), service-disabled veteran owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, veteran-owned small business, and women-owned small business) as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to perform the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately ten (10) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another vendor has the capability to meet this requirement.

Please email responses to david.shen@nih.gov no later than 11:00 p.m. EDT on June 9, 2026.
