7. RFP

The specifications include section 10 4400 – Fire Protection Specialties.

I have been unable to locate any locations on the plans. Please clarify intended locations for fire extinguishers and fire extinguisher cabinets.

Thank you.

AE

B01 Attachment J08 – Specifications and Plan Addendum 1 shows an existing fire extinguisher cabinet being relocated, no new fire extinguisher cabinets. Specification Section 10 44 00 - Fire Protection Specialties has been removed in its entirety by this amendment. Please see B01 Attachment J08 – Specifications and Plan Addendum 2.

8. RFP

The Contractor must maintain a Wyoming low-voltage contractor’s license as required by the Wyoming State Board of Electricity. Is this required per specification 270010 1.4C since the project is in South Dakota?

AE

South Dakota Electrical Contractor’s license is required by the South Dakota Electrical Commission. Specification Section 27 00 10 has been revised by this amendment. Please see B01 Attachment J08 – Specifications and Plan Addendum 2.

9. RFP

On E2.1, how are all of the Type U2 and U3 under cabinet lights controlled? Are they to be controlled with the overhead lighting in the area? I didn’t see a rocker switch in the catalog number for the Type U2 and U3 so wasn’t sure how these were to be controlled.

AE They are controlled with overhead lighting in the space.

10. RFP Who is the fire alarm vendor that currently provides the fire alarm system in the pharmacy? COR

The hospital doesn’t use a single vendor for the fire alarm system. The contractor will need to hire their own fire alarm contractor that will work on that system.

11. RFP Can you provide the owners security vendors contact information? COR Vendor will be provided after award to coordinate work

12. RFP Who is the vendor contact for the existing ceiling speakers in the pharmacy area? COR Vendor will be provided after award to coordinate work

13. RFP What size of box and conduit is required for the data stub ups? AE Box to be 4" X 4" X 2 1/4". Conduit to be 1".

14. RFP Is this project tax exempt? If yes, will a certificate be issued? CO The project is not tax exempt.

15. RFP Am I required to carry the TERO Fee + Excise Tax for a total of: 6%? CO Please contact the Tribal office listed in Section H.48 for the percentage.

16. RFP

If I’m reading the specifications correctly, ¾” conduit is the minimum size for the power drawings (E3.2, E3.3) and ½” is the minimum size for the lighting drawings (E2.1, E2.2). Please advise if ¾” conduit is the minimum size for the entire project or if we can we use ½” conduit for both power and lighting.

AE The vendor can use 1/2" conduit minimum for power and lighting.

17. RFP

Are there pictures or more information for Panel L4COM, Panel L4N, Panel L5N, Panel H4N, Panel H4LS. Are these QO or QOB breakers?

What are the AIC ratings of each panel?

AE

Existing Drawings show H4N & H4LS to be 18kA; L4COM, L4N, L5N to be 10kA. Contractor to field verify information.

Match existing breakers.

18. RFP

Are the (3) new GFI receptacles in Disp. RX108 supposed to be installed with Wiremold since it’s an existing wall? What type of Wiremold is required?

AE Utilize Wiremold AL3300 series raceway.

19. RFP

Pharmacy RX102 There is no sequence of operations for lighting controls for the pharmacy, which leads me to believe that the pharmacy is being switched on & off by standard line voltage toggle switches. I see a 3-way switch shown outside of Staff Entry RX101, but do not see another 3-way switch for control of the pharmacy. Could you please verify if this is correct? If it turns out that the pharmacy does require lighting controls, please advise the control requirements for this area.

AE Lights are switched ON/OFF. Provide 3 way switch on wall between Doors RX 112A & RX 113A

20. RFP

Flex Space 101 Does the flex space require a low-voltage dimmer? There does not appear to be any sort of manual wallbox controller in this room, but I’m assuming that one is required, per the Small Office, Exam & Conference/Meeting Rooms sequence of operations. Should I be including a wallbox controller for this space?

AE Provide low voltage dimmer switch at the entrance to the space.

21. RFP

Corridor 102 The sequence of operations for the corridor call for manual control of the fixtures in the corridor, but there does not appear to be any wallbox controllers shown in the corridor. Should a wallbox controller be located at the entrance of this corridor from Corridor V01?

AE Provide an ON/OFF switch at the corridor entrance as indicated in plan note.

22. RFP Can you find out if the image on E3.2 is a CAD or Revit error? AE The image is an overlay error. No work done in that area.

23. RFP

E4.1 – On the electrical equipment schedule it says Div 26 to furnish and install a 30/3 NFS for EBB1-1,2,3,4. The mechanical schedule Note 4 for EBB-1 states “provide with integral 20, 120/277V double pole switch”. Does Div 26 need to provide the 30/3 NFS if the mechanical is going to provide the integral double pole switch?

AE Manufacture supplied disconnect is acceptable.

24. RFP

If some of the existing walls are not being disturbed but the electrical plan shows receptacles, data outlets, and card reader rough-in going on these walls, what is the expectation of how to install? Wiremold 500 or 700 series? Remove sheetrock?

AE The intent is that the existing wall would be phished to provide a recessed installation.

25. RFP

E3.2 – Note 5 is confusing. Wiremold AL5200 series is a two compartment raceway for power and data as it comes with a divider. The note says to furnish and install (2) sets. Are you wanting a dedicated power AL5200 and then another dedicated data AL5200 on each side for a total of (4) pieces? Also, where will this mount? The architectural detail shows it being open and no wall unless it gets mounted in the knee space but then it won’t be continuous because of the printer drawers.

AE

Please provide single AL5200 SMR for each side of workstations to accommodate the power and data wiring.

Mount SMR to the stationary vertical supports.

26. RFP

For note 3, the Wiremold Series 250TC is not a valid number. When you search for it on the internet, 25DTC Series Blank Steel Poles comes

up. Is this acceptable? It also comes in 10’ or 12’. Please advise.

AE 25DTC is the correct part number. Provide the appropriate length to extend to above the accessible ceiling.

27. RFP

On the electrical equipment schedule E4.1, it says conduit and size for the heat pumps to be ¾” conduit with (3) #10’s and #10 ground. The heat pump is only single phase 277 and am wondering why I need (3) #10’s and not just 2 and why it can’t be #12 and ½” conduit like the equipment above the heat pumps on the schedule. The MCA tells me #12 conductor would be fine.

AE Please price as specified.

28. RFP

E4.1 – For HP-14,15,16,17 and TF-1, can we use a manual motor starter with overloads in lieu of a side arm 3P disconnect? We don’t need 3 poles since the power is 277V.

AE Manual motor switch with overloads is acceptable.

29. RFP

E4.1 – For EF-14, is a combination starter/disconnect acceptable? Beings the exhaust fan is on the roof, the combination starter/disconnect should be Nema 3R unless it’s going to mount somewhere inside the pharmacy space.

AE Combination starter is acceptable. Device should be Nema 3R rated if mounted on the roof.
