About this file

This is a Requirements Document for a specialized visible range spectrometer for the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). The procurement seeks a high-precision optical imaging system with specific technical specifications, including a line scan camera with 16384 x 288 pixel resolution, wavelength range of 450-750nm, and 1 MHz line rate. The system is intended to support ophthalmic devices research, particularly for developing regulatory science capabilities in optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology, with key objectives including clinical evidence development, biomarker research, and technology assessment.

The document specifies detailed technical requirements for the spectrometer, including camera specifications (95% quantum efficiency, 65dB dynamic range), frame grabber capabilities (7 GB/s acquisition rate), and software compatibility (permanent license, SDK support for LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python). Delivery requirements include a 60-day delivery timeline to the FDA facility in Silver Spring, Maryland, with a minimum one-year warranty. The solicitation (75F40125Q00423) is issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Food and Drug Administration, seeking a fully integrated system to support regulatory science work in retinal oximetry and ophthalmic imaging research.
