About this file
This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) record related to Solicitation 75F40124Q00378 for Annual Pipette Calibrations for the Office of Applied Research and Safety Assessment at the Department of Health and Human Services Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Acquisition and Grant Services.
The key details are:
- ISO17025:2017 accreditation is not required, as this would incur additional unnecessary expense beyond the government's research needs.
- There are no specific templates provided for Volume I and Volume II proposal submissions - the contractor can use their own format.
- The government will provide payment for additional parts needed for ad-hoc repairs outside the scope of standard preventative maintenance.
- Each individual pipette channel must be tested, even on multi-channel pipettes, as failure of one channel results in the entire pipette failing.
- Questions are due August 12, 2024, and quotes are due August 16, 2024, both by 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Questions and Answers
75F40124Q00378
Question 1: Please confirm that this is to be ISO17025:2017 accredited service with Certificates for each Pipette.
Response 1: NOT required, ISO17025:2017 accredited calibration services. This would be an additional expense beyond what is needed for our research purposes.
Question 2: Will you provide a standard format for Volume I and Volume II submissions? Where do we locate these templates?
Response 2: There are no specific templates. The Contractor can utilize their own format for submission.
Question 3: Are all repair parts included in the unit price or will a government agent provide payment for additional parts needed for ad-hoc repairs outside the scope of a standard preventative maintenance?
Response 3: The government agent will provide payment for additional parts needed for ad-hoc repairs upon approval for such repairs via a separate contract vehicle as stated in the Statement of Work.
Question 4: Can you clarify that we will be providing data for one channel on these pipettes rather than all channels?
Response 4: Yes, but understand that each channel must be tested individually. If one channel fails on a multi-channel pipette, then the pipette as a whole fails.
