About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) solicitation (75D0126Q79059) issued by the CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to supply liquid and compressed gas services to the Health Effects Laboratory Division at the NIOSH Morgantown Facility. The document provides estimated usage volumes for various gases and related products, establishing baseline quantities for pricing purposes without requiring offerors to calculate total spend—only price per cylinder for each year.

The required products include compressed gases (acetylene, air, argon, helium, nitrogen, oxygen), liquefied gases (anhydrous ammonia, refrigerated argon and nitrogen), carbon dioxide (standard and USP medical grade), gas mixtures (argon/carbon dioxide and argon/oxygen combinations), dry ice (5,200 lbs annually), and bulk liquid nitrogen (6,240 gallons annually). Estimated monthly quantities range from 2 to 336 units depending on the gas type, with cylinder rental and monthly deliveries for both bulk and cylinder services required. The document also discloses that this is a recompete of two previous BPAs terminated in 2025 (75D30122A13823 and 75D30122A13325), with Butler Gas Products Company as the incumbent contractor. Amendment 2 extended the quote due date to July 23, 2026.

Questions and Answers

1. Is there a use estimate for the gasses?

a. Please see the estimated usage below. There is no need to show total spend; CDC just needs the price per cylinder for each year.
