About this file

This presentation provides an overview of the Women's Economic Empowerment and Leadership Activity opportunity that USAID Jordan intends to release. The opportunity aims to contribute to increasing women's access to employment and leadership in Jordan by improving women's access to the job market, enhancing the workforce enabling environment, and addressing inequalities and prohibitive social norms and traditions. The activity has three objectives: improve women's access to jobs and leadership opportunities in the private sector; improve perceptions and advocacy; and create more equitable and safer working environments. The presentation highlights the need to consider sustainability beyond USAID funding, scale up successes of USAID and other donors, and meaningfully coordinate and collaborate with donors, USAID economic development programs, the private sector, and key actors. It also emphasizes the importance of co-design, co-creation, and engaging local entities and the private sector.
