Questions & Answers

Question 1: Does the vendor need to remove old boilers, install new ones and haul away old boilers?

Answer 1: No, There is no need to remove and install new boilers by vendor. This is the equipment purchase only.

Question 2: Is Bradford White acceptable alternative to Lochinvar?

Answer 2: Due to the existing piping layout, available installation access, purchase is limited to Lochinvar units.

Question 3: Are all the boilers for one building or multiple buildings.

Answer 3: Two boilers are for Galley building and four boilers for Gymnasium building.

Question 4: We need clarification on the performance requirements of the units being sought. Part number PBN2001-M13 is a heating boiler only and not a domestic hot water (DHW) heater. Part number PFN2001PM is a DHW heater (see attached). The language that is confusing is that you want a unit to heat the Galley & Gymnasium Buildings (boiler) as well as supply hot water to those buildings (DHW) and you state the WATER HEATER shall bear the ASME “HLW” stamp which is for “Lined Potable Water Heaters”. Please confirm if you are looking for heating boilers or DHW heaters. Unless otherwise notified, we will quote the part number you listed PBN2001-M13 and note exceptions.

Answer 4: Scope of purchase is the hydronic hot water heating Power-Fin Boiler-PBN2001-M13. All references to the Domestic Hot Water (DHW) heater units shall be disregarded.
