About this file
This document is an Amendment (Amendment 0003) to a federal solicitation for a renovation project at a U.S. Coast Guard Boat Maintenance Facility (BMF). The amendment extends the bid due date from 17 December 2025 to 7 January 2026 at 2:00 PM EST and includes responses to 155 Requests for Information (RFIs) covering multiple project aspects. Key project scope includes removing hazardous materials (lead, cadmium, chromium), replacing exterior metal panels, repairing concrete surfaces, reinstalling certain existing equipment, and applying high-performance coatings to structural steel.
The project involves comprehensive renovation of the building envelope, including installing 2.5-inch insulated metal wall panels, addressing structural steel conditions, reinstalling fire alarm devices, and performing specific mechanical and electrical upgrades. Notable requirements include AISC certification for steel repairs, use of a Certified Industrial Hygienist, compliance with Massachusetts building codes, and adherence to specific coating and inspection standards. The government will relocate building contents, and boat maintenance operations will temporarily transfer to another facility during construction. The project emphasizes maintaining the building's weathertightness and protecting electrical and HVAC components throughout the renovation process.
