About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a steam trap survey for the U.S. Coast Guard Healy vessel. The contractor will conduct a comprehensive survey of 300 steam traps across multiple ship systems, utilizing reference drawings from US Coast Guard and Spirax Sarco. Key deliverables include locating and identifying accessible steam traps, tagging traps with stainless steel tags, testing trap operations with an ultrasonic leak detector, and producing a detailed survey report encompassing steam loss analysis, trap performance statistics, failed trap identification, and total cost of ownership recommendations.

The project is scheduled for October 19-26, 2025, with work primarily performed underway at sea between Juneau, Alaska and Seattle, Washington. The government intends to award the contract using a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) method with a firm fixed price. The contractor must be registered in the System Award Management (SAM) and will be responsible for providing all necessary equipment and personnel. The Coast Guard will provide power and staff during the survey, and visitor berthing will be provided for the duration of the Statement of Work.
