CONTINUATION SHEET

USCGC MACKINAW DD

RFQ: 70Z08524QIBCT0012, AMENDMENT 0002

Continuation of SF 30, Block 14,

1. Work Item 52 - Walk-In Reefer and Freezer, Repair and Renew QUESTION: Can the USCG provide drawing number 516-00002 titled “REFRIGERATION SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST” to answer the following question:

• What are the Coast Guard parameters for the refrigeration system pressure testing such as amount of pressure and duration of time for the test per circuit. Will there be any specific requirements for the operational test to be aware of such as timing of bringing the freezer and cooler boxes into the required temperature ranges?

This drawing is Reference (4) on drawing 516-001 ANSWER: Our intention is that the contractor follows industry standard (which I believe is ASHRAE Standard 26) for the cleaning, evacuation, and dehydration procedures. ASHRAE Standard 26 is listed as a reference in SFLC Standard Spec 0000 for related HVAC work.

2. Work Item 52 - Walk-In Reefer and Freezer, Repair and Renew

QUESTION: Can the USCG provide drawing number CDRL 505-001-06 titled “REFRIGERATION SYS CLEANING, EVACUATION & DEHYDRATION PROCEDURES” to answer the following question:

•What are the Coast Guard parameters for the refrigeration system evacuation and dehydration process? Number of Microns and duration of time?

This drawing is Reference (6) on drawing 516-001

ANSWER: We are not aware of any specified time/pressure for an operational test. At the completion of work, all equipment should function as designed and specified in Manufacturer’s Tech Publication (TP 3812).

3. Drawing is Reference (4) on drawing 516-001- Unfortunately, we do not have these documents. We believe these were proprietary documents provided by the shipyard (Marinette Shipyard) during construction of Mackinaw detailing their plan for how to do the work

4. FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors

QUESTION: Please confirm the required documents for Factor 3: Technical. We are unable to locate the list (#6-9) of technical documents listed in "A. Required documents" as called out in FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors ANSWER: Refer to (6-9) technical documents listed in “A. Required documents” is hereby deleted.
