Question #1 : Are dive services for cofferdams required for this ASW modification as in previous solicitations?

Answer: Cofferdams are not needed for Q4FY18 DS ASW Modifications

Question #2: Paragraph 3.2.3 requires contractor to renew all lost system fluids. As this is a difficult to quantify requirement, for bidding purposes, is the contractor only required to replace a reasonable amount of fluids that might be contained in the hoses themselves?

Answer: Contractor shall renew the same quantity of fluids as removed from system. Fluids shall be drained low enough to adequately remove hoses without causing excessive spillage. For instance, L/O need not be drained enough to the lowest hose point. The entire sump need not be drained.

Question #3: Coast Guard drawing 750-WMSL 520-206 item 19 lists six (06) 3’ HELLAN strainers (P/N 0303AH-50804) as being part of the CFM to be installed. Cleveland-area manufacturer quotes a 19 week ARO lead time which would require the KTR to order in mid-June to make the period of performance. Can the government provide this long lead material as GFM?

Answer: Strainers shall remain as GFE. Any inconsistency with CFE availability shall be handled during the contract via CFR.

Question #4: Para 1.1 & Table 2 specifies (3ea) 2-high berths, (11ea) 3-high berths and (17ea) lockers.

Table 1 and Para 3.4 specifies adding in total (4ea) 2-high berths, (9ea) 3-high berths and (11ea) lockers.

Please confirm the correct number of GFM 2-high berths, 3-high berths and lockers which the contractor is to install. Note that the above numbers exclude relocations.

Answer: The GFE Quantity provided is: Three 2-high berths, 11 3-high berths, and 17 Lockers.

Question # 5: Given the delay in the delivery of the drawing CD, the contractor is requesting an extension to submit questions in order to properly review the drawings. As of 5/24/18 COB the CD has not been received.

Answer: The request for clarification deadline has been extended to: June 8, 2018 at 3:00 pm PST.
