About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the USCG BlueSHARK Dry Dock solicitation, containing two specific technical clarifications. The first Q&A addresses fuel procurement, with the U.S. Coast Guard confirming they will procure and load fuel for the project. The second Q&A resolves a technical specification conflict regarding shaft seal types, clarifying that the current installed shaft seal is a Chesterton seal (not a John Crane seal as incorrectly listed in machinery particulars). The machinery details include two MTU 8V396TE94 sequential turbo-charged diesels, two ZF Type BW 255 reduction gears, two AQUAMET 22, 101.6mm propulsion shafts with a 4" shaft diameter.
