Repairs include replacement of up to 8 linear feet of stringers S1, S2, and S6 on the starboard side, and plating repairs of up to 70 square feet between frames 115 and 127 on the starboard side in the engine room. DRYDOCK REPAIRS

70Z080-21-Q-P4588100

A00001 –Question Responses

1. Paragraph 1.1 of this work item says, “crop and renew up to 8 linear feet of stringers for S1, S2 and S6 located on the starboard side in JP-5 pump room”. Paragraph 3.3 indicates that the repairs are located on the port side in the JP-5 pump room. Please identify the correct side of the vessel where these repairs are to be completed.

a. Neither 1.1 or 3.3 is correct, but is as follows.

i. S2 – STBD Side - 2 Linear Feet

ii. S3 – Port Side - 2 Linear Foot

iii. S4 – Port Side - 2 Linear feet

iv. S5 – STBD Side – 2 Linear foot

2. In paragraph 3.3, third bullet down reads, “Crop and renew up to 1 linear foot of S6 stringer located on the port side in the JP-5 Pump room”. The paragraph does not provide a frame number for this repair. Please provide a reference frame number. –

a. At Frame 156.

3. In paragraph 3.3, many of the bullets identify repairs to stringers S1, S2, S5, S6 etc. Normally, stringers on the starboard side of the keel are labelled S1 and so on. Stringers located on the port side of the keel are labelled P-1 and so on. The government has identified the stringers using “S”, but have identified the repairs as being on the port side. Please clarify, which side of the vessel are the repairs to be completed?

a. All Stringers within spec are referred to as S# - port vs. stbd side is specified within the verbiage before or after.

4. In paragraph 3.3, final bullet reads, “Crop and renew up to 70 square feet of 15.3# hull plating between frames 115 and 127 located in the Engine room”. The description does not identify port or starboard, or give locations as indicated by stringer number. Please provide a more detailed description of where the plate replacement is to take place, is it one insert or multiple inserts, so the contractor can identify interferences to this work. –

a. STBD Side of the Engine Room IVO the R/O – One large Section unless determined otherwise by KTR or CG Inspector.

5. Paragraph 3.3, fifth bullet down says, “up to 9 linear feet between 118 and located in the engine

Room”. Please verify that the repair is to be completed on the starboard side, and identify the correct frames the repair is to be completed between (i.e. between frames 118 and 127?). –

a. Correct – between 118 and 127 on the STBD Side of the Engine Room
