Question:
In Work Item 1, paragraph 3.1.4 of the spec it states for the contactor to remove and dispose of up to 10,000 gallons of fuel. The tanks in question only have a capacity of 1800 gallons at 90%.
In Work Item 3, paragraph No. 3.1.4.1, it is stated to remove and dispose of an additional 10,000 gallons of fuel.
In Work item 4 paragraph 3.1.4.1 an additional 10,000 gallons of fuel is to be removed and disposed of.
The tanks in question only have a capacity of 5949 at 95%.
In the past the Coast Guard has had its tanks designated for opening and inspection at low suction and the residual fuel remaining at low suction is the amount assumed for bidding purposes.
Please clarify how much fuel removal and disposal does the Government want to quoted.
Answer:
All tanks will be reduced to their low suction point, it is expected that there will be residual fuel in each tank that will be the contractors responsibility to remove and dispose of. While the amount that is listed exceeds the tanks capacity it is meant to be an "up to" amount. Therefor it would be the absolute maximum that the contractor would see. The reality will be that the contractor will be required to remove and dispose of much less.
Question:
Work Item 018. Paragraph 3.2 says, “Remove existing and replace it with a remote indicator for the Chillgard LE refrigerant monitor system”. The contractor has not been able to locate a vendor that can sell the Chillgard LE monitoring system. They have indicated that the system has been discontinued.
Can the government provide a source of supply for this system?
Answer:
The government will provide the 10098217 / 6665-01-607-6953, Chillgard LE refrigerant detection monitor, remote indicator.
Question:
Work item # 28 indicates the need to replace a 1 LF section of 3” OD x 1/16’’ wall CUNI pipe. Using drawing # 905-WMEC 672-006.
This drawing has nothing to do with the Bilge Piping System in this area. I have looked at all of the referenced drawings shown in the body of this work item and do not see that size of piping included with the material list on the reference drawings. What material is to be used for this repair?
Answer:
The oily water bilge piping in Refrigerated and Dry Stores (Compartment 3-169-0-A) is 1 1/2" piping.
