REPLACE DOUBLE DOORS AND

FRAMES

SUMMARY OF WORK

PSN# 9128195

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 PROJECT INTENT: Replace (2) two sets of double doors and frames at the U.S.

Coast Guard Housing complex located at 600 Adams Avenue, Cordova, Alaska 99574. The first is an exterior double door and frame for a maintenance storage building that has past its life expectancy and has started rusting through. The second is an interior double door and frame for the Community Center storage closet. One of the doors was recently broken when it was apparently forced opened.

The contractor shall coordinate work schedule with USCG CEU Juneau prior to any demolition and construction work. The Contractor shall complete all work within 45 calendar days from the notice to proceed. All work shall be performed during normal CG work days between the hours of 0800 to 1600, no Federal Holidays. Coordinate with CEU Juneau for any proposed alternate work times for approval if needed.

1.2 SUMMARY OF WORK: The Contractor shall provide all equipment, materials, labor, supervision, transportation, and other related items for work specified in the specifications, indicated on the pictures, and required for a complete and functional installation. The contractor shall also protect all furnishings, government property, etc. from damage during demolition or new work. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING

ACTUAL DIMENSIONS AND SITE CONDITIONS.

Exterior double doors/frame Remove and dispose of existing doors, frame and hardware. (The existing lockset should be removed and reused on the new doors.)

Provide and install one A60 (galvaneal), 16 gauge, welded frame, and 18 gauge flush face double door/frame.

The hardware should include the following:

- Commercial grade door closure

- 4 ½” Stainless hinges

- Flushbolts

- Dust proof strikes

- Mill finish aluminum astragal/perimeter seals

- Door bottom/rain drip guards

- Commercial threshold.

Interior double doors/frame

Remove and dispose of existing doors, frame and hardware. (The existing lockset should be removed and reused on the new doors.)

Provide and install one hour rated wooden doors and flush face double door/frame.

The hardware should include the following:

- Commercial grade door closure

- Stainless hinges

- Flushbolts

- Dust proof strikes

- (2) stainless kick plates

The doors, frames and associated hardware will require submittals and subsequent approval from the US Coast Guard’s Project Manager.
