About this file

This is Amendment A00001 to a Coast Guard solicitation for tank and bilge cleaning services on USCG vessels. The amendment addresses three clarifying questions and answers regarding operational procedures for the contract work to be performed at the U.S. Coast Guard Yard, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226.

The amendment clarifies three key operational requirements: (1) the Coast Guard will not provide a frac tank for offloading, and vessels must be offloaded directly to vacuum trucks in a continuous cycle; (2) the Contractor is responsible for containing and disposing of all water removed during barnacle cleaning off-site, as water cannot enter drains or the water system surrounding the CG Yard; and (3) historical bilge water samples from previous vessel services did not contain PCBs. These clarifications establish contractor responsibilities for waste management and set expectations regarding environmental contamination concerns for the bidding period.
