About this file
This document is an Amendment of Solicitation (Standard Form 30) for a U.S. Coast Guard solicitation (No. 70Z04025QYARDTENT) issued by the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center in Baltimore, MD. Amendment A00001 addresses a vendor's question regarding door specifications for an enclosure system. The amendment clarifies that for each enclosure end half, the requirements include:
(a) A 30' x 30' disappearing fabric door, operated electronically, with all necessary installation hardware (trolleys, pulleys, cables, winches, and tracks), and (b) A steel 'man door' measuring 36" wide x 80" high with push-bar hardware and frame. The government explicitly states that a fabric roll-up door is acceptable and that mobility takes precedence over rigid door design. The amendment provides definitive guidance on door system requirements, confirming that vendors can propose non-rigid fabric-based solutions without compromising the solicitation's core requirements.

Solicitation No: 70Z04025QYARDTENT Amendment No: A00001
14A. Amendment A00001 is issued to respond to the following questions submitted in response to this solicitation:
QUESTION: The solicitation states that an engineered, warrantied end-door system is required, with detailed instructions for operation and any necessary external equipment. Our vendor’s proposed solution includes a 30’ x 30’ disappearing fabric door system
• Should mobility take precedence, allowing for non-rigid fabric-based end doors?
• Or is the Coast Guard’s intent to require fully engineered rigid doors, even if mobility is compromised?
ANSWER: The only references to “doors” is in paragraph 3.1.14 of the SOW which states:
3.1.14 EACH ENCLOSURE END HALF
Must be opposite the open end and MUST be equipped with:
(a) A disappearing fabric door with a minimum size of 30’ x 30’. Door shall be operated electronically, and Contractor shall include all required trolleys, pulleys, cables, winches, and tracks necessary.
(b) A steel ‘man door’ with a minimum size of 36” wide x 80” high. The man door MUST include push-bar hardware and frame.
A fabric roll-up door is acceptable; mobility takes precedence.
