Questions and Answers:

1. If the USCG were to send a propeller to the contractor for overhaul and the contractor found all of the blades had defects that caused them to be scrapped, would it be the contractors responsibility to provide replacements?

a. The contractor is not responsible for replacing a component (part) that the USCG sends to them if it cannot be repaired or overhauled. If the Blade cannot be repaired or overhauled IAW the OEM specifications, the USCG will determine if the component(s) is scrap and provide direction on the disposition of the Blade. The contractor bares no responsibility to replace the Prop Blade, etc., if it is determined to be scrap. The USCG will not replace or substitute the Prop Blade, etc. The USCG would issue another Task Order for the repair or overhaul of a different Prop Blade, etc. when needed.
