About this file
This document provides responses to questions from potential offerors regarding USCG Request for Quotation (RFQ) 70Z03824QK0000014 for Plating and Metal Finishing Services. The RFQ is a 100% small business set-aside for a firm-fixed price contract with a 1-year base period and up to 4 one-year option periods. Key details include:
The largest part to be plated is approximately 24"W x 24"L x 2" thick. The contract has a 2% monthly invoice reduction based on meeting the set Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) per the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP). The agency will not award separate processes, but rather will make a single award to one company that can handle all requirements, including any rush parts. No drawings, specifications, or schematics are available. Quotations are due by 18 April 2024, and award is anticipated on or about 17 June 2024. The applicable NAICS code is 332813 with a 500-employee size standard.

Responses to Ques ons
Amendment 1 Answers provided 20 March 2024
This document provides United States Coast Guard (USCG) responses for questions that have been asked regarding request for quotes (RFQ) 70Z03824QK0000014. Question numbers are provided simply as a reference and in no way infer a prioritization of the questions.
Number Ques on USCG Response
1 It there a part dimension max I can see? Our tanks may or may not be able to handle the parts coming for plating.
The largest part that is sent out frequently is approximately 24” W X 24”L X 2” thick.
2 Can you explain the “2% reduction monthly invoice” column?
See QASP Sec ons 2.1 and 6.0. The contractor must meet the set AQL to avoid a reduc on to the invoiced payment amount.
3 Is there the ability to be awarded some of the processes and not all? We do not do two of the performance requirements (black oxide and powder coa ng, although we have sub suppliers that can do it if awarded)
No. Due to the delivery and pick‐up schedule, along with rush parts, award to one company is in the best interest of the
Government.
