Questions and Answers- USCG
Tents and Equipment
Q1: Regarding the LUNCH AREA 30x50 tent canopy - could we instead use a 40x40 (this would consist of 4 different 20x20's - so there would be legs inside the group structure). It would have a square shape instead of slightly rectangular - and it would actually be 100 sq ft. larger.
Would this be OK ?
A1: Multiple tents are not acceptable as they create obstacles for our wheelchair and other athletes with mobility issues.
Q2: Regarding the CEREMONY SHADE 20x60 tent canopy - could we instead use 3 20x20's (side by side - so there would also be legs inside the group structure). It would have the same footprint - but again - there would also be legs inside the group structure Would this be OK ?
A2: Multiple tents are not acceptable as they create obstacles for our wheelchair and other athletes with mobility issues.
Q3: Regarding the OPENING & CLOSING CEREMONIES 40x80 tent canopy - could we instead use a 40x60 PLUS TWO 20x20 connected at the long end.
It would have a the same footprint - but again - there would also be legs inside the group structure on ONE side. Would this be OK ?
A3: Multiple tents are not acceptable as they create obstacles for our wheelchair and other athletes with mobility issues.
Q4: Regarding securing tents in non-staking areas: the solicitation calls for water barrels-can we use an open barrels (typical of disaster base camps) or concrete ballasts?
A4: Closed Water Barrels are preferred but not required. Ballasts for tents in non-staking areas must be highly visible for our athletes with vision issue. Anything small and low to the ground can cause a trip hazard and is a safety issue
