About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) Answer Sheet for the USCG Station Belle Isle HVAC Repair contract (Solicitation Number 70Z03025QCLEV0069), dated 06/25/2025. The document contains two key questions and answers related to the HVAC unit replacement project. The first question addresses hazardous material removal, specifically the need for a licensed HVAC technician to remove and dispose of R-22 refrigerant in accordance with Michigan EPA requirements. The second question clarifies the replacement unit specifications, indicating that the Coast Guard is seeking a new HVAC unit for the East Wing with similar fit, form, and function to the existing Lennox T-class Rooftop HVAC unit, specifically requiring a R410A refrigerant unit with 180 MBH Heat Input and 7.5 Ton AC capacity (or equivalent). The document concludes with a note that no further RFQ/Questions will be accepted per RFQ Section J.

RFI ANSWER SHEET
DATED 06/25/2025
Question: In the terms of the contractor removing hazardous materials (H-5. HSAR 3052.223-70 Removal or Disposal of Hazardous Substances – Applicable Licenses and Permits) What if any licenses do the contractor have to have for removal? Or is this best-case scenario?
Answer: I’m certain this referring to the removal of refrigerant (R-22) that is in the unit. It will need to be removed and disposed of in accordance with Michigan EPA requirements by a licensed person. Likely a Licensed HVAC Technician.
Question: Is there a certain unit that the client would like or is it a similar unit that will su ice?
