Questions and Answers Solicitation 70Z03024QCLEV0064
Release One (03 May 2024)
Q1: Will the Coast Guard provide painting supplies?
A1: The Coast Guard will supply only the paint. The Contractor is required to supply roller brushes, paint supplies, and labor.
Q2: Is painting with a sprayer authorized?
A2: Due to different sheens in the rooms, paint spraying is not authorized. Although all areas are the same color, different sheens will apply each room. Bathroom, kitchen, and windows are semi-gloss while the remainder of the house is eggshell. High temp paint will be supplied for the registers.
Q3: Paints of the same color but of varying sheens accent each other poorly. Going with a flat white on the ceilings, eggshell on the walls, and semi-gloss on the trim is a potential waste of resources. Traditionally when a houses interior is painted white everything goes 1 sheen namely eggshell. Would that method, in this case, be appropriate?
A3: Contractor is not authorized to use different paints. As stated in A2, the kitchen, bathroom, and windows will be painted in semi-gloss while the remainder of the house will be painted in eggshell.
Q4: Is working outside of normal operating hours, such as starting work early and working late, permitted?
A4: Yes, working outside of normal hours is permitted but must be cleared with the Project Point of
Contact (POC) for instructions. If working late, the Contractor must secure the site in accordance with POC’s instructions prior to departing.
Q5: Due to the gaps in the performance periods between the houses, is invoicing upon completion of each house authorized.
A5: Yes, invoicing for completing each home is authorized.
