STURGEON BAY WISCONSIN PAINTING PROJECT Questions:
Will doors require painting? Trim around doors, walls, and ceilings were the only substrates mentioned. No doors will require painting
Being how all areas to be painted will go the same color, the most efficacious manor to approach the job would be to spray. Turning off the HVAC and AC system will ensure particulates in the air won’t circulate. That coupled with cross ventilation eliminates any risk of damage to the home. It would cut labor time in half and save a good deal. Not to mention non-pigmented whites are notorious for not covering. On average you can expect 3-4 brushed and rolled coats to get good even coverage and sheen uniformity. With spraying the paint atomizes to a fine and even mist covering much better in just two coats. Spray painting will be no problem, especially if it is more time efficient.
Are the ceilings popcorn ceiling? Because if they are and haven’t been painted, the only way to paint them is by spraying.
No ceilings in the housing units have popcorn on them.
Paints of the same color but of varying sheens accent each other poorly. Going with a flat white on the ceilings, eggshell on the walls, and semi-gloss on the trim is a potential waste of resources. Traditionally when a houses interior is painted white everything goes 1 sheen namely eggshell. Would that method, in this case, be appropriate? The one sheen of Eggshell will work just fine, whatever is the easiest.
Can we be allowed to work outside of normal operating hours? Start earlier work a bit later Beyond the specified 8a.m-3p.m? Creating an atmosphere where everything isn’t so rushed. If hours have to be altered to make sure the work is done right and not rushed I can try to accommodate as long as it’s reasonable.
At the bottom of the SOW in the table there is a category titled “New painting scheme required”. All of the houses that require painting are labeled NO. Is it safe to assume that a new painting scheme isn’t required because the interiors were painted white previously? No new paint scheme is needed, we are just looking to have the walls and ceilings getting fresh coats of paint.
1) Would it be possible to arrange for 2 houses to be made available simultaneously? Allowing for the steps of painting to be applied to both at the same time? Or after one is completed after a 5 day work week another would be ready. Thus, saving on time and materials. In regards to the houses being available for paint, it will be whenever the Coast family leaves based upon their movers schedule. End of May through the end of June. Every family has different departure dates.
2) Can pictures of the houses interiors be provided. I don’t have any interior photos of the housing units.
