About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document that provides specifications and visual documentation for a United States Coast Guard float designed to accommodate a Jayhawk helicopter. The float has minimum dimensions of 50 feet in length (including the gooseneck to the Jayhawk's tail rotor when mounted), 10 feet 6 inches in width, and 16 feet in height, with an approximate weight of 15,000 pounds. The contractor is responsible for ensuring sufficient clearance on each side of the float to allow Coast Guard personnel to navigate safely and adequate space in front for trailering operations. The dimensions provided represent minimum requirements for the float itself and do not account for additional space needed for operational purposes.
The document includes three photographs showing the float in various configurations. The images depict the float mounted with a Jayhawk helicopter at a Coast Guard facility, the float positioned in a street parade setting labeled "Krewe D'Rescieux," and a side view showing the float's profile with Coast Guard markings and helicopter mounted on top. These photographs provide visual reference for the float's overall structure, operational setup, and appearance as currently configured.

Questions and Answers and Photos
Question: Could you please provide any available dimensions, approximate weight, and photographs of the float?
Answer: Per the Performance Work Statement, the float dimensions are 50’ in length (accounting for the length of the gooseneck to the Jayhawk’s tail rotor when the Jayhawk is mounted on the float), 10’6” in width, and 16’ in height. The Contractor shall ensure suƯicient space on each side of the float for Coast Guard personnel to navigate around in addition to suƯicient space in front to trailer the float as necessary.
The approximate weight of the float is 15,000 lbs. Keep in mind this is just an estimate.
Photographs of the float are below:
