About this file
This file is a Questions and Clarifications form for the Special Purpose Craft - Heavy Weather 2nd Generation (SPC-HWX II) solicitation. The document addresses a specific inquiry about the design phase timeline and process for the project. The government clarified that design reviews will be used to refine the plan and establish final configuration and certification status of the engines, without changing the original design phase timeline or Design and Development Plan.
The solicitation, issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, requires delivery of the first boat within 18 months of the first boat delivery order, with a total project delivery timeline of 550 calendar days from the award date. The Statement of Work (SOW) establishes a milestone-based sequencing of four project phases, with flexibility for alternative delivery schedules through bilateral agreement. The project involves the development of a next-generation Special Purpose Craft designed for heavy weather operations.
