United States Coast Guard Foreign Passenger Vessel Examiner (FPVE) Course

Request for Quote: 70Z02318QPFC00100 Questions and Answers

Q1: What is the difference between Base Period, Option 1 and Option 2?

A1: The Base and Options will be associated with the (3) courses being held on the ship which coincide with the cruise dates provided. (Example: Base Period Course 1: January 01- January 05; Option 1 Course 2: March 01- March 05).

Q2: What if a Vendor isn’t registered in System for Award Management (SAM)?

A2: Go to https://www.sam.gov/portal/SAM/ and register. All vendors must be registered in SAM.

Q3: How will the USCG book and pay for cabins?

A3: The USCG will make booking arrangements with the Awardee. Payments will be made utilizing a Government Purchase Order.

Q4. Can the Request for Quote be extended?

A4. Due to time restriction the USCG does not intend to provide an extension at the moment; unless deemed necessary.

Q5. Is there a possibility for a vendor to be registered in the USCG/Government database as an available partner for said services and extend the deadline?

A5. There is no USCG database for an available partner; however registration in SAM is required for contract award. No extension is anticipated at this time, but may be looked at later.
