RAIO International travelers use both diplomatic and official passports. The number of diplomatic visas can vary and are based on overseas PCS (permanent change of station) assignments. For example, from Oct 1, 2024, to present we obtained 15-diplomatic passports of the 15-passports we obtained only 3 travelers required a visa.

3. How is the daily pickup and delivery from/ to USCIS Headquarters today. Is it a scheduled pickup or on demand pickup and deliveries?

We schedule pickups and drop offs with the USCIS courier service CRDS. Picks ups/drop offs can only be schedule once a day, preferably in the early mornings, and cannot be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Typically, the courier is only able to drop off/pick up from 1-2 embassies, due to their daily delivery schedule. So, a RAIO Travel team member will do drop off/pickups to ensure visa are submitted to timely.

4. Is it accurate to assume that USCIS/ RAIO will prepare the visa applications?

Currently travelers prepare their own visa application and submit to RAIO Travel, for review. RAIO Travel arranges for delivery of the visa application by courier service to the specific consulate/embassy.

5. How are the travelers to initiate the request for the visa order? Online order form or offline order form? Please describe your current process and future expectations.

Travelers will prepare and submit their visa to USCIS/RAIO Travel office. RAIO Travel will then arrange delivery of the visa application to the contractor and the contractor will arrange delivery of the visa application to the specific consulate/embassy. Currently travelers prepare their visa applications and submit to RAIO Travel, for review. RAIO Travel arranges for delivery of the visa application by courier service to the specific consulate/embassy.

6. For consulates accepting applications later in the day, would the government accept visa delivery the next business day?

Yes, we will accept deliver of the visa application the next business day, for those consulates that accept applications later in the day.

7. Would the government expect a digital copy of the visa upon receipt for record management purposes as an optional service?

For those countries that issue a visa stamped inside of the passport, when we receive the passport, we record the visa issuance and expiration date in our system. For eVisa, we ask the traveler to send to us their visa issuance and expiration date, to record in our system.

8. Is the government expecting to leverage a dedicated courier service to deliver to all embassies in the same day? What is the number of embassies that need to be visited beyond logistical limitations? Is the expectation for contractor to use multiple couriers or continue to deliver uncompleted applications on the following business day?

Travelers will submit visa application to USCIS RAIO, and USCIS RAIO will arrange for the USCIS courier CRDS to drop off visa applications to the contractor/vendor. Our expectation is to have the contractor be responsible for delivery of the visa applications to the specific consulate/embassy. Our expectation that the contractor will deliver visa applications to the specific embassy within 24-48 hours after visa applications are received.
