Questions and Answers Solicitation 70LGLY21QGLB00045

Q1. Would you please clarify what “other soft media” might include?

Answer:

o Paper o Windowed envelopes o Laminated paper o Compact disk or similar plastics. (ratio of plastics to paper will not exceed 10%) o Staples, paper clips

Q2. Does the work being solicited generally take one full day to accomplish?

Answer: Historically, work is completed in one day. Complicating factors may include:

delayed physical access to buildings (minutes), weather (such as thunderstorms and heavy rain), or pandemic related protocols.

Q3. PWS, p. 2, 1.1.2.2. If material is moved to an offsite location for destruction, will a government employee follow the truck to the site?

Answer: It is the responsibility of the contractor to safeguard the information in their custody, from government facility until destruction. The government reserves the right to follow/escort the material until its destruction but is NOT obligated to do so. In this capacity, the government employee(s) will be inspecting for contract compliance, not providing protection of the information. This does not imply a special right, privilege or expectation to have a government escort.

Q4. PWS, p. 3, 3.6. If containers are placed on upper floors not accessible via elevators, will government employees bring that material to a lower floor?

Answer: Yes. Containers should be located, such that, it may be rolled to the destruction vehicle without traversing sets of stairs.

Q5. Accessibility o How spread out are the various locations/ buildings where service is needed?

Answer: The FLETC Glynco campus is comprised of approximately 1600 acres. Historically, the bins have been placed in approximately 60 buildings spread across an area of less than one square mile.

o Is there sufficient parking near an appropriate egress for our truck at each location/building for the time it will take to retrieve containers, shred the contents and return the containers?

Answer: Yes.

Q6. Incumbent o Is there a current contract for the work being solicited?

Answer: Yes.

o If so, please provide that awarded contract number or task order number (not the incumbent GSA contractor number).

Answer: HSFLGL-17-P-00040 o Please provide the name of the incumbent contractor and when the contract is ending.

Answer: Incumbent contractor is Record Services, Inc. and contract expires Sep 30, 2021.

o Please provide the annual contract amount.

Answer: Current annual contract amount: $26,322.00 o Is the level of effort being performed under the current contract fundamentally the same as what will be required to fulfill the work being solicited? If not, please explain how the work will be different under this solicitation.

Answer: Fundamentally, yes. The amount of paper to be destroyed is anticipated to remain fundamentally the same. We anticipate the destruction of approximately 2,500 data cartridges (DDS) the first year, then 100 per year. We anticipate destruction of approximately 100 Hard Drives (plater style) per year.
