Q /A Ballistic Desk

1. Does the desk need to have power for operations? This can be an option that you include.

2. Are you asking for a L shaped desk? The desk is U shaped and needs to be Long panel 72” to 96” long, short panels 48” to 72” long, with a minimum height of 54.5” tall

3. Do you want Level 3 in stead of Level 3 A? Level IIIA.

4. Adjustable desk top if adjusted does it need to keep guard safe? Yes, the adjustment can not leave the guard exposed above the desk.

5. Is this indeed intended for use at the front entrance by the receptionist who may or may not have some training in security procedures? No.

6. Is this a stand-alone requirement - the ONLY location where assessment has concluded that ballistic protection is recommended at this one site only, or might this be considered to be a sort of "pilot program" which, if proven successful, may lead to requirements for the same at each of your ten Regional offices? Sole single Purchase

7. The SOW requires that the desk be "Equipped with a quick release shield mounted to the side of the desk" –

• Is this a Police style shield Yes

• Is it NIJIIIA threat level or other? Yes NIJIIIA

• What are the overall dimensions required for the shield? (ex. 18"x30" is average size). 18 X 30

• Any there any other shield features? NO

• Is the shield “quick release” attachment to be on 'outer' side or 'inner' side of desk? The shield needs to of standard industrial shield size with an ability to resist Level IIIA

8. Ballistic material is mounted to a heavy-duty aluminum frame" - What is the purpose of this?

This leads us to believe that the ballistic material referenced is framed and attached to the structure's surface. It also sounds like a steel or other rigid structure is being considered, which will make the reception desk extremely heavy. If so, it may lead to bullet ricochet or fragmentation, which could endanger lobby occupants. If your desk is not attached to an aluminum frame, please proved the detail of its construction and build within your quote.

9. The SOW shows the desk to be provided in various sizes Since we are able to provide the reception desk in any of the dimensions parameters noted in the solicitation, is there a preference in size? See Q2

10. Would it be possible to provide photos of the existing reception station and lobby space? Or, will we be allowed to visit the site to view prior to proposal date? Attached

11. We can provide in a variety of wood tone finishes. What is the preferred finish color?

Any dark wood color will work
