The FEMA Texas Recovery Office will be installing modular furniture and will need two (2) each data drop installed from the source to the end use point:

1. FEMA will supply one MDF [Main Distribution Facility] and six IDF’s [Intermediate Distribution Facility]. The MDF and 4 of the 6 IDF’s [1-4] are located in Building A. The last two IDF’s [5 & 6] are in Building B.

2. FEMA will also supply electrical power for the MDF. Power for the IDF’s will be supplied via a dedicated electrical run from the MDF so as to utilize the Master Battery Backup [Powerware] and [Kohler] Diesel Generator Systems.

3. Contractor will adhere to EIA/TIA 568B Standards, unless otherwise noted.

4. The desks will have power poles with data internal raceways to support two (2) each data drops from approximately a 10-12 foot drop ceiling to a block cubicles.

5. Each “Office” will have two (2) data drops, unless indicated separately.

6. Each Conference Room will have at a minimum (3) data drops; one for wall mounted VTC [video teleconference system], one for VOIP Conference Phone and one for a Presenter’s laptop.

7. Where designated on the floor plan – each Printer or MFD [multi-function device] will have one data drop terminated, wall mounted and then terminated to the appropriate MDF/IDF.

8. Data cabling will be low-voltage wire [blue in color] from the server room MDF or the nearest IDF for cabling to the power poles and into furniture internal raceways for each desk station. This type of run will be called “Data” Drop.

9. Data Cables will be run above the drop ceiling in appropriate devices or raceways.

10. Data cables will be connected to the punch down at each desk station and patch panel.

11. Where appropriate [see below], Contractor will supply low-voltage [white in color] data drops terminated for RJ-11 Phone Service, home-run to Building A DMARC terminated to a designed 66 Block, tested and labeled. Contractor will supply the 66 Block and associated hardware at the workstation side capable of inserting an RJ-11 silver satin cable into the jack. This type of run will be called “Phone” Drop.

17. Twelve-Strand Fiber will be installed per IDF into a one inch innerduct [conduit] and will include drag-string [tape] terminated to a fiber patch panel using LC Connectors, OM4.

18. Contractor to provide low-voltage [yellow in color] wiring ceiling drops for wireless access points. Wire will be terminated back to the appropriate MDF or IDF.

19. Contractor to supply each IDF with one two-post rack, mounted to the floor. The MDF will NOT require two-post racks.
