Questions & Answers Accessible Travel Trailers IDIQ RFP: 70FB8024R00000030

1 3 Electric Service Since the majority of RV parks do not have 2-50 amp receptacles at each RV site, could we have the electrical service be 1-50 amp and 1-30 amp service to carry the electrical service on the unit?

FEMA is willing to consider all proposed alternatives as long as the final product will meet the agency requirements of providing travel trailers that include all features needed for accessiblity including wheel chair and other mobility needs, sight and sound imparements, and breathing (including oxygen).

2 4 HVAC The heaters specified are not reccomended for this installation due to safety concerns. The infra-red style heaters must have a 36" clearance in the front of the heater as well as clearances on the rear and sides to prevent a fire risk. With most occupants and the space constraints inside the units, 36" clearance will be extremely hard to maintain. Can we utilize a gas floor furnace and electric heat strips in the AC units?

FEMA will provide travel tailers to people with access and functional needs. One of the needs is the use of oxygen. FEMA would like the trailers to be all electric. The agency is willing to consider other options as long as there is safety for disaster survivors who use oxygen.

3 4 Water Heater A 10 gallon electric water heater will not provide enough hot water for the occupant to take a shower and will take up valuable space from the interior of the unit. For the most efficient method of heating the water and much less required space, Can we utilize a gas continuous flow water?

Please provide an adequately sized electric water heater as part of your proposal. FEMA is looking to house disaster survivors with access and functional needs including survivors who use oxygen.

4 3 Overall Requirements

We currently have a floorplan that does not require the holding tanks therefore not requiring a heater to keep the tanks from freezing. Will this option be acceptable under the Arctic Package Requirement?

No. FEMA looks to be able to sell the accessible travel trailers to the public after the agency is finished using the travel trailers. Travel trailers without holding tanks would have a limited market.
