DOT Inspection for Trailers in Craig Field, Selma, AL

BACKGROUND

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) had numerous trailers staged at Craig Field in support of response actions for Hurricane Helene. During their prolonged staging, their Department of Transportation (DOT) Inspections lapsed before they could be returned to FEMA’s various Distribution Centers (DCs). These inspections need to be recertified before they are allowed on the road to be transported back to DCs for future use.

SCOPE

The contractor shall complete DOT Inspections for the eighty-three (83) trailers at Craig Field. The trailer types consist of Box Trucks (2), Chassis (26), Trailers (26), and Chassis Trailers (29).

OBJECTIVE

These trailers are required to have DOT inspections completed before being road worthy. With the Staging Yard closing date approaching, the objective is to complete all DOT inspections and any necessary repairs of trailers to enable them to pass their inspections.

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE

All work shall be completed within 20 days After Receipt of Order.
