About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Expired Meals for DC Caribbean, covering two locations: DC San Juan and Cayey Annex. The document details information about HDR (Humanitarian Daily Ration) meals from manufacturers Ameriqual and Wornick, with specific expiration dates. At DC San Juan, 458,680 Wornick and 286,280 Ameriqual meal units will expire on 8/30/25, with 2,880 Wornick units expiring on 9/30/25, scheduled for MEDCOM inspection on 9/03/2025.
The Q&A provides specific details about the meals, including pallet dimensions (48.5 X 41.5 X 42), current storage conditions, and site visit arrangements. For the Cayey Annex, some HDR meals that expired in July 2025 have been extended until January 2026 and posted on GSAXcess. A site visit is arranged for Tuesday, 8/26 from 10am-11am, requiring a government-issued ID for entry. No bottled water is available at either location, and while a safety data sheet was requested for the Fireless Ration Heaters (FRH), none was provided beyond a National Stock Number (NSN: 8970-01-375-0516).
