QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS - 70FA2026Q00000022
1. Would a fiberglass panel rear door with a single center lockable folding drop-down T-handle be acceptable in lieu of the aluminum panel door as specified? The door can be aluminum or solid fiberglass and can have single or dual locking handles.
2. Vehicle handoff / place of performance: The solicitation lists Denton, TX as the place of performance and FOB Destination. Will the Government deliver the F-150 to the contractor’s installation facility in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, or is the contractor expected to perform the installation at the vehicle’s duty station in Denton? Confirming this will ensure our schedule and logistics are accurate. Yes. We will deliver the F-150 and leave it with the vendor until work is complete, then we’ll pick it up.
3. Specification confirmation: Please confirm that any commercial fiberglass cap meeting all specifications listed in Section C is acceptable, and that no specific manufacturer is required. A specific manufacturer doesn’t matter as long as there are no windows.
4. Lead time – every supplier I've checked needs 8–12 weeks for a color-matched cap. Can the 45-day window be extended, or is it firm? The
Contracting Officer will take into consideration the lead time for this requirement. Please annotate the expected time for pickup on your submittal.
5. Delivery – will FEMA bring the truck to my shop in the DFW area, or do I install it in Denton? We (FEMA) will deliver the truck to the vendor’s shop and leave it at the shop until the cap installation is complete. The delivery/install area is within 100 miles of Denton, TX.
6. Confirming any cap that meets the Section C specs works, with no specific brand required? Any bed cap that meets Section C specs will work and there is no specific brand required.
