About this file
This is a technical specification document (46 41 27.33 Hyperboloid Mixers) for the procurement of hyperboloid mixing equipment for a wastewater treatment facility's Primary Waste Activated Sludge (PWAS) and Blend Tank system (Project 25-205-B). The specification requires the furnishing of hyperboloid mixers capable of complete homogeneous mixing of blend tanks containing primary sludge, thickened waste activated sludge (WAS), and scum. The project calls for two mixers for the Blend Tank compartments, with specific performance requirements including 7.5 minimum horsepower motors operating at 1800 rpm, 460V 3-phase 60 Hz power, and the ability to mix contents with up to 7.4% solids concentration and 1.02 specific gravity. Acceptable manufacturers are limited to Invent Hyperclassic Series or engineer's approved equal, with specific model requirements including baseplate mounting arrangements for tanks measuring 22' x 12' x 18'-8".
The specification includes comprehensive submittal requirements with shop drawings, CFD modeling analysis, materials specifications, and detailed technical documentation required both with the proposal and after contract award. Equipment must comply with ASTM, AFBMA, AGMA, ANSI, and OSHA standards, with all wetted components constructed of 316 stainless steel or fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP). The manufacturer must provide a 24-month warranty from startup and final acceptance, factory-trained technician services for installation supervision and operator training (totaling approximately 4 man-days), and certification that equipment meets specification requirements. The mixer components must be designed to pass through a 4 x 6 foot aluminum access hatch for assembly, and the system must demonstrate complete tank mixing capability through performance testing at the manufacturer's expense.
