About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 6982AF26Q000011, issued June 1, 2026, concerning NV FLAP WAS CR34(1) Geotechnical Drilling services.
The document addresses two inquiries received on May 28, 2026. The first question clarifies drilling methodology, specifically whether drill crews must core asphalt using a core machine prior to drilling with a 6-inch outside diameter (OD) auger, or if direct auger penetration is acceptable. The contracting officer confirmed that pre-coring is not required and that the 6-inch OD auger should drill directly through existing asphalt without pre-coring. The second question requests clarification regarding labor hours, with a bidder noting that the advertised allocation of one day up to 10 hours may be insufficient given the number of borings and mobilization time between locations, and requesting permission to adjust the bid sheet to 30 hours. The contracting officer rejected this request, directing bidders to submit bids as advertised with the original 10-hour allocation. This document provides binding clarification on contract requirements for prospective bidders.

NV FLAP WAS CR34(1) Geotechnical Drilling June 1, 2026
Questions Answer
Received May 28, 2026
1. Will the drill crew be required to core the asphalt, with a core machine, before drilling with 6” OD auger, or would the drill crew be allowed to penetrate the asphalt with the auger?
No, the 6" OD auger to drill through the existing asphalt without pre-coring
2. I see in the request that 1 day, up to 10 hrs has been allotted for this project. I am thinking given the number of borings, and time to move to each boring this might end up taking 2 to 3 days to complete. Would it be okay to adjust the quantity of hours on the bid sheet to 30?
No, bid as advertised.
