About this file
This document contains questions and answers from an advertisement for a federal-aid highway project located on Donner Pass Road in California. The project will rehabilitate 6.54 miles of existing pavement and widen shoulders to include bike lanes between Interstate 80 Exit 174 in Soda Springs and the Truckee city limits. Significant work includes roadway excavation, rock excavation, aggregate base, asphalt pavement, guardrail installation, erosion control, and traffic control. The cost range is estimated between $10 million to $14 million. Construction is planned from spring 2020 to fall 2021. Type L pavement markings must be installed at 90 mils and will be recessed a minimum of 0.11 inches. Either epoxy paint or preformed thermoplastic can be used for the 400 linear feet of blue longitudinal lines, though paint is preferred for consistency. The Federal Highway Administration is the agency managing the federal-aid highway project.
